Microsoft today announced the Skype for Business Mac Preview which brings powerful Skype experience to Mac users. With this version, you can test the latest changes to the application. The new 64-bit HDX Real Time MediaEngine for Mac will not work with the older, 32-bit versions of Citrix Receiver for Mac. Skype Preview is an in-development version of the famous video-calling application. In conjunction, users will need to preview the 64-bit of the RTME for Mac that is available for download below. Citrix Workspace app for Mac is a 64-bit app and it is currently available for preview. Historically, Citrix Receiver for Mac and RTME for Mac have been 32-bit apps. Which customers should evaluate this preview?Īll customers that have deployed HDX RealTime Media Engine for Mac should use this RTME preview to assess compatibility with the new Citrix Workspace app for Mac. Users can seamlessly participate in audio-video or audio-only calls to and from other HDX RealTime Media Engine users, native Skype® for Business and Lync® client users, and other standards-based desktop video and conference room systems. HDX RealTime Media Engine is a plug-in to the Citrix Worskspace app that supports clear, crisp high-definition audio-video calls, particularly with Microsoft Skype® for Business.
